Sunday, Sept. 9 --- 12:00pm-4:00pm
The Rutgers Fall Involvement Fair took place at Vorhees Mall on College Avenue. We got lots of interest and new members. Thanks to everyone who came out for their support!

Monday, Oct. 1 --- 8:45pm-9:00pm
Show for the Spanish House Open House held at the NJC Lounge, located on the second floor of the Douglass Student Center.

Wednesday, Oct. 3 --- 9:00pm
Show for the Rutgers Society of Leadership and Success. Location was Lucy Stone Hall Room B115 on Livingston Campus.

Tuesday, Oct. 9 --- 3:30pm-4:00pm
Show for Loan and Angela's Portuguese Class. Location was Campbell Hall Room A3 on College Avenue. The demonstration was 15 minutes long, and was followed by a really good 15-minute question and answer session. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported their fellow club members and the club.

Wednesday, Oct. 17 --- 4:30pm
45-minute show for Cartaret High School. Thanks to everyone who came out to support the club!

Friday, Oct. 26 --- 10:00pm
Show for Tent State's "Rock The Vote" in 135 Scott Hall on the College Avenue Campus. Although the event was rained out, we still had a very supportive audience and a fast-paced, high-flying show that everybody loved! Thanks to everyone who came through! Attendance was excellent!

Monday, Nov. 5 --- 9:00pm
Show for a multicultural event hosted by a sorority that will be partnering with us in advertisements. The show was held in Trayes Hall of the Douglass Campus Center. Thanks to everyone who came out to this show.

Tuesday, Nov. 20 --- 8:00pm-8:20pm
Show for CASAA in the Rutgers College Ave Student Center. The club works with this organization every year as a joint effort to enlighten the Rutgers community and help each respective organization grow larger. The club was paid for this show, and had great attendance.

Tuesday, Nov. 27 --- 11:00am-11:30am
Demonstration for 'Portuguese in the World' class in Livingston Classroom Building, Room 103. This was a great opportunity to show capoeira to many students who had little idea what it is. Your presence & energy is much appreciated!! Thanks to all who came out so early on a weekday!

Thursday, Nov. 29th --- 8:30pm-9:00pm
Show for the Hindu Student Association's Diwali Mela event in College Hall of the Livingston Student Center.

Saturday, Dec. 1st --- 7:30pm-8:00pm
Show for the Shockwave Winter Concert in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Rutgers Student Center on College Avenue. Check out the pictures here.


Workshops, Batizados, and Special Events:

Saturday, Sept. 29 --- 3:00pm-6:00pm
The Grupo Liberdade Batizado took place at 51 Bruen St., Newark, NJ 07105.

Sunday, Oct. 7 --- 1:00pm-5:00pm

Tuesday, Oct. 9 --- 9:00pm-11:00pm
Regular practice was substituted by a special workshop taught by one of the most world renowned masters of capoeira - Mestre Lobão.

Saturday, Nov. 3 --- 6:00pm-9:00pm
Mestre Panão's group - Capoeira Resistencia - had their annual batizado in Richmond, Virginia with events starting on the night of Nov. 2 and lasting until the end of the day on Nov. 3. Check out the flyer here and make sure you plan on coming next year. The event was fantastic!

Thursday, Nov. 8 --- 9:00pm-11:00pm
For the first time ever, professor Fabiano of Capoeira Balance from Connecticut taught a workshop in lieu of regular club practice.

Thursday, Nov. 15 --- 11:15pm-1:30am
Thanks to everyone who came out to support the club in this first Rutgers Capoeira Club Fundraiser - Movie Night! The Bee Movie was lots of fun, and we got to spend lots of social time with each other! The showing was at Berkeley Heights theater.

Second Capoeira Club fundraiser at Berkeley Heights theater. Just like last time, you pay $5 for a private show, unlimited popcorn and soda. The movie this time was Disney's Enchanted (see the preview here). Thanks for the support!

Saturday, Dec. 1 --- 1:30pm-5:30pm
THANK YOU TO COQUEIRO FOR REPRESENTING RUTGERS CAPOEIRA AT THE fourth annual Grupo Capoeira Brasil NYC batizado. This is Professor Abara's branch of Capoeira Brasil, based in New York City. The event was overseen by Mestre Cabeça. The batizado was located at JUDGE CHARLES J. VALLONE SCHOOL PS 85; 23-70 31st Street., L.I.C., NY (Between 23rd and 24th Aves). You can click HERE for a map.

Saturday, Dec. 8 --- 9:00am-11:00am
Thanks to Amanda, Angela, Brian M., Frankie, Mimi, and Onnie, who came out on this beautiful morning to help children who are less fortunate. Big Chill 2007 is a 3 mile marathon that is an annual event held by Rutgers Recreation as a charity for the less fortunate children. To enter the race, you must bring an unwrapped toy on the morning of the marathon, and submit it during sign-in.
